‘In Memory’ considers grieving spaces. In thinking about an alternative time and space to mourn, this work lens to further navigate. Photographs are used as a visual aid to display traditions and dispositions of “home-going”. Peppermints are displayed in the thought of recollection, process and revitalization. I encourage each participant to take and absorb a peppermint to enhance memories of loved ones. The aroma of the installation signal memory of sitting in pews at each funeral service.
